Why this directory exists, and who's behind it.
Laksshmi is a personal hobby project created and maintained by DDNN. It started as a small devotional side-project — a way to bring together the history, legends and practical travel details of temples across India in one place — and has grown from there. It isn't run by a company or organization; it's built and updated independently, temple by temple, state by state.
Laksshmi is a devotional guide to temples across every Indian state and union territory — 88 temples and counting. For each temple we cover its history and legend, its divine significance, how to reach it, where to stay nearby, and where to find official/contact information. We also maintain dedicated Journeys pages for classic pilgrimage circuits like the twelve Jyotirlingas, the Navagraha temples, Kalabhairava shrines, the Pancharanga Kshetras, and the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
This is a living project: new temples are added regularly as coverage expands toward every state. If you'd like a temple added, a detail corrected, or want to get in touch, reach out via the contact details on this page.
History and mythology sections draw on well-documented tradition and public record. Practical details like darshan timings, accommodation and phone numbers change over time — always confirm with the temple trust or state tourism department shortly before you travel.
