One of the Pancharanga Kshetrams on the Kaveri, associated in tradition with the poet-saint Thirumangai Azhwar, with temple structures developed over the medieval Chola period.

Divine Significance

A revered stop on the extended Pancharanga pilgrimage circuit, less visited than Srirangam but steeped in Azhwar-era Vaishnavite devotional history.
