History & Legend

The twelfth and final Jyotirlinga, rebuilt in its present red-stone form in the 18th century by Ahilyabai Holkar, standing right beside the Ellora Caves UNESCO World Heritage site.

Divine Significance

Often visited together with the Ellora Caves, it marks the conclusion of the traditional Jyotirlinga pilgrimage circuit.
