History & Legend

One of the Shakti Peethas, worshipped not as an idol but as natural blue flames emerging from rock, first enclosed in a temple structure and later expanded with a golden dome gifted by Mughal emperor Akbar in gratitude.

Divine Significance

The self-igniting flames, fed by natural gas seams, are venerated as the goddess's tongue, a rare peetha without an anthropomorphic idol.
