History & Legend

Built in 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, this Shakti Peetha has a distinctive tortoise-shaped (kurma) structure and marks the site associated with Sati's right foot.

Divine Significance

One of the most revered Shakti Peethas in Northeast India, drawing pilgrims from across the region especially during Diwali.
